The number of new job advertisements posted online soared in September with 24,900 new job listings, according to Danish job board Jobindex. This is 8% more than in August 2020 and 10% more than in September last year.
This level of growth was higher than before the coronavirus crisis and was the highest number of new job ads in a single month since 2008.
However, Jobindex added that the level could be artificially lifted due to job ads postponed from the spring, adding that ‘if that is the case, we must expect a relapse in the coming months.”
Jobindex added that the number of public job ads, with 8,000 new job ads, is not just 29% above the level in September last year, it is actually the highest number of public job ads Jobindex has seen in a single month ever. Meanwhile, private salaried positions, which in August were 11% lower than in August last year, are now 8% above the level in September last year. Private non-salaried positions are still at the same level as last year.
Among job categories, teaching saw the biggest increase in job ads with a 42% increase in September 2020 compared to September 2019.
