We're very excited to be travelling to Toronto, Boston, and Washington, DC, this May as part of Ireland Gateway To Europe.

At 3C Global, we are passionate about helping our clients expand internationally and hire and place top talent across the globe by providing comprehensive international workforce solutions, expert guidance, and local knowledge, as well as ensuring full compliance for all stakeholders in the chain.

We continuously work to deepen our international network by establishing strong ties across key markets to best support our clients, contractors and network in expanding and hiring globally.

In the coming days, 3C Global's own Francis Maye will be joining a delegation of 60 Irish CEOs, business leaders & leaders in travelling to the United States of America & Canada with the aim of showcasing Ireland as the premier location for North American companies that are considering expanding to Ireland and further into the EU.

All while also exploring opportunities for Irish companies to scale and grow into the North American market. Promoting and fostering strong ties and bilateral trade opportunities.

During the trip, we'll have the opportunity to meet with over 200 CEOs, including many from the wider Irish Diaspora, who are leading some of North America's largest companies.

Ireland Gateway to Europe aims to foster business connections which are built on deep cultural ties, strong bilateral relationships, and a shared vision for collaboration.

What is Ireland Gateway to Europe (IGTE)?

Established in 2012, Ireland Gateway to Europe is a collective whose main aim is to foster bilateral transatlantic trade by:

  • Encouraging American companies to choose Ireland as their base for European expansion.
  • Supporting Irish businesses seeking to establish a presence in the US or Canada
  • Equipping businesses with the information, trust, and connections they need to execute their international expansion plans.

Ireland's Gateway to Europe initiative plays a crucial role in supporting international growth and bilateral transatlantic trade by equipping businesses with the right insights and strategic connections.

The Importance of Bilateral North American Ties:

With recent US-imposed tariffs contributing to economic uncertainty, particularly for the EU, this year's visit takes place at a pivotal time. The Irish-American link has a long cultural and business connection, and there are growing concerns that new trade barriers could strain these well-established relationships.

According to figures published by the American Chamber of Commerce, US companies employ 211,000 people directly in Ireland and indirectly support an additional 168,000 jobs, with Ireland serving as a Gateway for accessing the European market. While Ireland is host to nearly 1,000 US companies, including many of the world's biggest names in tech and pharma, Irish companies employ over 118,00 people across the United States and, according to IBEC, are the largest business investor in the state of Idaho and the 3rd largest in the state of Wisconsin. Ireland is also now the 6th largest investor in the US, with over 500 Irish companies with US bases and operations, including big names such as Stripe, Glanbia, Kerry Group, CRH, Smurfit Kappa, Kingspan and Ornua to name a few.

As we have discussed, the strong bilateral ties between the USA and Ireland have been mutually beneficial, empowering businesses to expand into some of the most influential markets in the world.

For North American businesses, Ireland is a gateway to expanding into the European market. As the only English-speaking nation in the eurozone, Ireland boasts many strategic benefits for businesses looking to expand. From its location, EU membership, business environment, skilled workforce and technology infrastructure alongside its thriving industry and Silicon Docks, the Island nation of Ireland has, in recent decades, been a hotspot for international business and industries.

Speaking ahead of the North American visit, Francis Maye, Founder and CEO of 3C Global Group, said: "Now is the most important time to speak directly to the decision-makers in those businesses. Ireland offers North American companies a base to expand across the EU—it would be short-sighted not to consider it. Likewise, North America still offers strong opportunities for Irish and European businesses. While tariffs are the current challenge, long-established links are not easily broken. It's vital we continue building relationships to sustain and grow bilateral trade."
